Hey Mr. Famous

by Wolfgang Nibori

i’d like to crack your crystal skull
i’d like to grind you up to find-
can’t you show me how it goes or must i always tow this line
you pretend you can’t remember, pretend it took a flash
still i’m reaching ’round for answers
still i’m drowning in the bath and it’s like
how much crazier am i gonna hafta be? how much further
to run from who i used to be
which is not to say that i’m somehow someone else
it’s just the ready-made admission we all create ourselves
at school i skipped the parties i never got invited in
then i’d party just to skip school let it sail into the wind
here i am, once again and i’m finding it to be
a fucked up kind of maze, an obscure lopsided game
so it boils down to fuck it
guess i’ll roll my dice anyway

red/white military

by Wolfgang Nibori

he said, "here’s a knife, use it well." then he showed me how
yet demonstration cannot do the jungle justice
he said, "here’s a map, a clean way out." it’s up to me this time
like to think i’m kinda sharp, the test is in the grind
push and shove and shout to see your stock shoot on up
wave the papers in their face, have another cup
the caffeine era’s set in hard, we’re banking on pure futures
a goal intangible for now, a dream carve from this existence
"here’s a knife, use it well." it’s on my shoulders now
