love’s filing cabinet

by Wolfgang Nibori

ah, those dust-covered fingertips i refuse to lick
but i found your page, that whole sheaf
buried. in the back of the archives
oh the pen was broken and the ink came clotted
we still wrote it all down, didn’t we?
yes, you and me, we made a record. we sealed us a little fate
even the devil couldn’t write up a contract the way we do
even the lost, greedy souls who broke our world
would never sign away their lives this way
you and i, recorded, filed and stuffed into the back of the archive
still those dust-covered fingertips counting
every day we tick off another notch on the survival post
tear-stained, yellowed, maybe faded by the dark
i’d draft and sign it yet again
cause hey, we made it this far

nitey nite!

by Wolfgang Nibori

Sweet Cherubim of apple-tinted cheeks
graceful gold blond petal-head nodding to relief
growing always triggers pain, proof our lives can always change
you drift beautiful, soothing as the moon a’full
how i long to see emerge, butterfly you’re sure to turn
never let the carry you, breezes rarely keep promises
yet i’ll hold your hand when you ask me, talk you back to sleep
never come against you keep me in mind when you feel the need

wave and fade away

by Wolfgang Nibori

you are the ice queen, standing at the base of Palms
smoldering sun of passion’s heat cannot reach you
rays never caress your untrue face
you are the widow who never mourns her loss
you are the Alcatraz. no love can escape!
your symbol is the shark devouring each attempt
still you wait, as a spider in the rafter
trolling down to poison. poison every day
my sympathy ran dry. in pretty pillows you shall smother
keep standing in the grove of Palms
i move on to touch Another. that’s a promise

to the last Drop

Monday, June 9th, 2008

These are the verses to the 3rd experimental video…

"to the last Drop"

Hello Little lost Girl, Snowflake spinning through the world

Terrified that candle, Love, might melt you down

This cracked, half empty glass of tears you call your life

Bet you were born with angel-wings, but the Devil stole them, right?

You know, for playing such a gentle lamb, you’ve got awfully sharp teeth

You took the saying literally, Leave a deep impression on everyone you meet

I, the fool who trusted you, mainly blame myself

Sewed my own heart on my sleeve, you kept yours on a closet shelf

Poor Little lost Girl, film script friends in a cartoon world

I confess I knew better, knew your words to be pretty painted lies

Saw how you always plot your dramas as the star of a fairy tale

Your loyalty sits on the auction block, your affection stays on sale

Even though I learned from this I can’t help but wonder "Why?"

I fell in what I hoped was love, believing we might bond for life

Crashed down, on to your cardboard heart I fell

As the magic faded I came to see your love’s nothing!

But a bed of nails
