Rapidfire Update

Thursday, September 25th, 2008

Hey guys, I just wanted to blast off a quick post because I’ve been busy lately. I’m still writing a ton, but at the moment it’s for songs as opposed to poetry. Since there’s not any big demand for the poems and I’m still waiting on a couple that’ve sold (that person’s super busy, too), I’m focusing on my music. I’ll see if I can scrounge some things to post once I’m sure they’re not going to be made into songs. I’ve got dozens of pages to work with so I’m sure a few will end up here.

But I’m alive and kicking! Thanks for contacting me to ask about this project. Yes, it’s still something I’m doing and if you ever want any of the poems on here or for me to write one for you, feel free to get ahold of you and I’ll respond ASAP.

I’ll also post up some tunes once we’ve got them squared away, links to videos, etc. Thanks!

Quick Update

More Poems will be forthcoming. I’ve got a lot of things going on at the moment so been slow but rest assured more will be on the way and hopefully in the mean time a few of these might sell, as well. :)

Why I should Get a James Dean Nash review

Wednesday, July 9th, 2008

As you guys probably know who’ve been following this blog for a while, I’m attempting to do two things with it. Number one is get myself out there in the artistic sense and number two is show how I’m going from zero to the lofty million dollar status.

In order to do this I run more than just the Million Dollar Poetry Project, in terms of websites. For each of those sites I try to learn ALL that I can. I’ve found different methods and tried them and I’ll keep trying them until something "clicks" and then I’ll keep trying things and improving as I go. You know, small things such as maybe an attractive design for THIS site. :)

It all takes time.. the basis of the project "stamina + innovation", that’s my slogan and I’m stickin’ to it. Well, during this process I’ve come across a guy who’s offered alot to help many of my projects out and he’s GIVING the info away free on his site: James Dean Nash

The reason that I find him so inspirational is that he’s not using shady tactics to earn his success, he’s simply employing smart and ethical strategies to promote useful products and services. Also, like me, he went through a period of homelessness and has had to claw his way out of poverty. I’m a huge fan of his thanks to a post by Kalta over on the Digital Point forums.

So when Mr. Nash said he’d be willing to review sites that were willing to post about his site, I jumped at the chance! :) I believe he should consider this site because I think once it catches fire (as slowly as it may be going at the moment) it’ll be a slice of internet history. I hope he selects me, I’d be honored!

It’s Kind of Strange

Friday, June 27th, 2008

I’ve not updated in a while, so I felt it was high time I actually did a little bit of personal talkage. So far the project’s progressing very slowly. However, I don’t mind that and in truth I expected that it would. It’d be very weird to sell a thousand dollars worth of poems right out the starting gates. I’m catching my stride, though, and I don’t believe I’ve missed a day of posting up new poems!

To each of you who’ve subscribed to my feed or simply visit frequently, thank you very much your support means a great deal to me. Oddly enough, SINMinX has become something of a refuge for me as of late. Most of you who’ve been frequenting since the first days know that I also write for other websites as well as a run a sizeable site catering to horror fans. I’m also learning as much as possible about marketing because it fascinates and it’s a part of art, as well. I’ve managed to get hooked up with a product I’m proud to promote (though I’m not going to plug it here right now) that’s an aspiring filmmaker’s dream come true. A good chunk of my time is going into that. I’d rather learn with someone else’s product the ins and outs of this crazy marketing stuff rather than put SINMinX through the wringer.

I will be posting more E-bay auctions, but the last one did not sell so I’ll go ahead and wait until a particularly striking poem reveals itself to me. I never write a poem with a sales intent behind it. Not because I feel that would be ‘wrong’, but when I’m writing and posting here each night/morning I’ve got a certain artistic freedom I really savor. As for the videos, my last one got blown off course so it may be a while. I’m going by whims at the moment. My main ambition is to keep creating fresh, sincere poems. I’ve got a luxury here and I intend to make the most of it while I can because I believe when people do begin to realize the advertising potential (or maybe even the artistic merit) of SINMinX, there’s going to be a gold rush and I’ll be drowning in poem orders to fill. I look forward to that day, but I also realize it may be overwhelming.

Oh, and look for the second and third sponsored poems to be posted up on the front page very soon. I’ll announce them here in the blog, as well. They’ve been paid for and the delay’s due to some scheduling difficulties the buyer’s been going through. She’s a terrific artist, though, and I do think you’ll enjoy seeing the artwork that will accompany the pages of the poems I’m writing for her. :)

Once again, thank you VERY much for all your support and (apparently) spreading the word about this blog! If you’ve got any comments or questions, feel free to speak you mind.

Recent Rumblings

Thursday, June 19th, 2008

I wanted to take the time to thank those of you who’ve subscribed to my feed. I hope you’re getting what you want from the blog and if you’ve got any suggestions or requests, feel free to ask. To me, poetry’s a challenge of trying to express ideas, emotions and imagery so if you ever would like give me a challenge, I don’t mind giving it my best shot. You don’t HAVE to buy a poem, you can simply challenge me to write what you want and I’ll see if I can deliver.

I’ve just gotten a new column writing job over at SongMeanings.net where I review albums for those guys. It’s a pretty cool site because it lets people get into discussing the lyrics and their take on what each song means. This week I reviewed Coldplay’s latest album Viva La Vida (Death and All His Friends) so you’re free to check that out if you like.

Beyond that, this auction for Defiance of Balloons has only ONE HOUR left! It’s a nail-biter, lemme tell ya. I sure hope we see a victory there, so if you’re so inclined to bid I’d be delighted to see that.

Thanks for visiting and look forward to new poems before the sun rises!

First Sponsored Poem now LIVE!

Tuesday, June 17th, 2008

That’s right! The First Sponsor Button (ie, the very top spot on SINMinX.com forever) got received by its winning bidder on Saturday, we hammered out the graphics to use for the button and now a poem’s been chosen.

It’s actually the Project StumbleUpon poem, rude lemon! I’m extremely excited because this is the first bought and paid for poem to go live. If you click the link above you can see the button and if you click that button (based on one of the winning bidder, Rey’s experimental art photographs) then you’ll be able to read the poem! Be sure to stop by his site, as well, it’s worth a read!

In case I’ve not yet mentioned it enough, don’t forget that there’s an auction going over at E-bay for ‘The Defiance of Balloons‘ so be sure to take a look see.

PS - If you ever experience any errors, please be sure to let me know. Comments and questions are appreciated too so don’t be shy :)

A Brief Apology

Sunday, June 15th, 2008

Well, it’s awfully ironic that the first day I change the blog’s header to "Fresh Poetry Daily" ends up being the first day I didn’t post a new poem! Don’t worry, though, that’s going to be as rare of an occasion as I can possibly make it. I did write poetry yesterday and today and I’ll be bringing you that in just a bit.

If you’re wondering what’s been the hold up, well, I’m a writer and tech guy over at Happy Horror. It’s taken me a good deal of time to set up the forums there so that’s why my post didn’t make it up. Fear not, before the sun rises I’ll have some fresh poems for you!

And the video’s taking longer than anticipated due largely to Mother Nature not cooperating as well as I’d like. A new video will also be up soon, but here’s where the others are for those of you interested in viewing them.

Finally, not only have I got the poems on this blog for sale, I’ve got an auction going right now and of course, I’m always willing to write custom poems for you ($5.00/5 line minimum orders, please) in any style and on any subject matter you’d like! Feel free to mail me at the HappyHorror.com address, with the first part being "GlowStormLion@" (sorry, gotta trick those spambots!) :)

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to hit again soon for the new poems. I like ‘em alot!

Brand New Feature

Thursday, June 12th, 2008

As regular visitors to this blog have come to know, I feature fresh poems daily. I work to make sure there’s something new every day for each of you to enjoy, but I want to go beyond that because the road to a million isn’t going to be easy or quick.

With that in mind, I’ve initiated a new weekly feature! I’ll be auctioning off one poem each week on E-bay in order to raise more funds for the Million Dollar Poetry Project. Not only will the winning bidder receive the traditional button on the front page and link to a website of their choice, each of the auctioned poems will come with a handwritten original copy of that particular poem mailed FREE to the winner!

In case you’d like to take a look, here’s where you can find the latest poem up for auction:

One Way to Support the Million Dollar Poetry Project

Wednesday, June 11th, 2008

I sat down today and considered ways bringing some income into the Million Dollar Poetry Project. After doing a little research, I realized that setting up an Amazon shop was well within my means. Then I went and built it! As of now I’ve added books (both fiction and non) that have inspired me over the years. I hope you’ll find a title you’d like to read, too.

The Million Dollar Poetry Project Shop

(Click this link to visit)

All purchases made through this store go to benefit this project. I’ll be using any earnings to advertise more widely so I can get the word out and also make the blog (and main site) look better by purchasing some graphic design since I’m (clearly) not skilled at that. :)

Since Amazon handles all payments and orders, you know your information’s secure. I’ve handpicked each product and I won’t be adding any books, movies, games or music that I’ve not enjoyed myself.

Thank you for visiting and thank you, also, if you choose to take a look!

The flow starts to go

Quick update today. I only wrote a bit due to many other obligations. You can find the work below. I’ll be adding a video later. I wanted extra time to prepare.
